Tuscany:

We paint Florence in the rain.        Linda and Niccolo serve dinner.           A view from our windows.

Liguria:

    Dear Anthony,
My husband and I have met you several times on Fridays in Old Town Oakland. I recently read “Two Months in Italy and Istria,” and enjoyed it thoroughly. The part that resonates in particular is the July 17 entry: “It just so happens that this trip to Rome has inspired a meditation regarding the difference between faith and truth.” Around the time that I read that line, I was contemplating the relationship between faith and trust. Your comment made me think of one of my favorite sections of “Passing Strange,” written by Stew, which is about a musician who is a seeker. A friend of Stew’s told him, “Your musician is looking for something in life that can only be found in art.”

I’ve self-published three books with Lulu and think you might like at least two of them. Artists are the main characters and the writing is fairly abstract. I’m trying to tap into artists as the audience for my work. The titles of my books are “Tanner Blue” (inspired by taking a walking tour in Paris and learning about Henry Ossawa Tanner); “Music for the Dream—Seven Short Stories;” and “Painted Deserts,” which is set in parts of Oakland, including the downtown farmers market, and also Arizona. I invite you to visit my website, tannerblue.com.

My husband and I have a deep appreciation for your work.

    Peace & positivity,
    Valerie

  2. Hi,
I’m glad you enjoy it. I update whenever I have news of exhibitions or something worthwhile to say. Generally from once a month to once a week.

Dear Anthony, every word of your blog was worth the time of the read. I’ve shared it with all my friends. Just in case the world doesn’t end by next week, the Merriest of days in 2013, my friend.
